Dashami afternoon brings the emotional close of Durga Puja: sindoor khela, where women smear vermillion in farewell to the Goddess, while the dhak plays one last time and the pandal empties into the procession.
Everyone is welcome to watch or take part, and the immersion procession follows from the hall with music, dancing and flower-covered floats. Arrive early for a good place along the route.
